MAKING A MOVIE ON A ZERO DOLLAR BUDGET

It is not easy to create a movie on a low budget but it is possible. Our latest short film; Trust God was filmed on a $400 budget and just like the title of the film, we were Trusting God for this film to come to fruition.

A Musicbed competition was happening and Two weeks ago, God told me that this story needed to be filmed. He even laid out the script for me from the dialogue to the scenes. The one characteristic to this film that sets it apart from so many others within this competition is that it is based on a True Story. The situations within this film actually took place within my wife and I's life. I won't give out too much information about the film because I would hate to spoil the story. However, let's just say it is a action packed Inspirational drama film that will leave you on the edge of your seats.

#TrustGod2022 is a short film based on the true story of how one man’s faith causes a chain reaction of transformation. This powerful film encourages us to live in victory by trusting God even when life gets in the way. Check out the trailer below.

During the course of a two week span, we wrote the script and started assembling the pre production paperwork for this film. This included shot list, scheduling, breakdowns, and with such a low budget; Taylor and I were working overtime while Trusting God to see this film through. Listen, if God put the desire on your heart, he will see it through till the end but it doesn't come to you if you continue to sit on a couch eating chips. You must be the willing vessel to work hard while trusting him to guide you.

Taylor and I originally had it planned to film this with $0 budget, 3 actors and our good friend @StevenWilson as our soundman, but God had other plans. Someone saw my passion and heart to reach the lost and believed in our work that he blessed us with $400 to create this project. I was like, okay God. You know you're amazing but if you want this filmed the right way, you need to bring a crew and location to me. Well, a few days later crew members started to flood my inbox and I was quite shocked because I never posted anything on facebook about needing crew that was simply due to my budget. I felt God telling me to reach out to my good friend Evertt Jones with @CineDirektor and sure enough he was on board.

So within a day we had gained $400, a DP. The next tackle was finding the right locations. I reached out to my pastor and another pastor friend about using there church but again, God had different plans. My wife ended up reaching out to a friend from our church and this friend is one on fire for God friend. She even considers her home God's home and the stories she can tell you about this home will leave you speechless, but that is for another film and for another time.

Needless to say, She agreed and on top of that she reached out to a one of her good friends that owns a mechanic shop @CPDIESEL&AUTOMOTIVE. Guess what? They not only agreed to allow us to use their facility but they were gracious enough to let us work overtime and past the time frame we were allotted for no cost.

After everything was in place, our filmset was growing substantially. We needed extras for our filmset and our friend John Popa reached out to us. We ended up adding him as a 2nd AD and put him in as the kind giver. This actually plays out his true character. If you know John, you know that he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He truly is gentle and loving in nature. He brought us to Jose Roldan that in turn led us to Linda Brown extra/ 2nd AC and Hannah Pruess Script Supervisor. Lastly, I needed a gaffer but God again stepped in and led us to Kevin Burnham, a talented and gifted individual that has a desire to learn all aspects of film making.

The end results came out beautiful and this movie is set to be released in 6 days. This is where you guys will come in. This film will be judged on a crowd response and we know with God this film will win. Every vote matters and I know you will be deeply touched by this story as much as we all were. With God all things are possible and this film itself is not only a testimony story but it is also a testimony in itself.
